Dark to light:

Inspired by the movie the woman in black alongside other influences. I wanted to recreate the look of old WW2 photographs of the evacuees. The old monotone photographs yellowed by time are haunting yet precious family heirlooms for most of us. I wanted to try and capture that feeling in an image.

I also sought to try recreating the effect of the reflections of a black phone screen. The idea being that when hung this would cause the viewer to seem as if they were within the painting, via your reflection is captured in the glass of the frame. Creating the feeling of “I’m behind you”.
